Assistant Bishop of Chicago Victor Scantlebury visited St Nicholas, with the Holy Innocents people in attendance. Young people were confirmed as full members, and adults were received also.
Afterwards, we all went out into the neighborhood around the church and dropped off shopping bags for a toy drive for needy children.
Even the bishop, who was a very good sport about it!
We returned to St Nicholas for a great lunch together, and then the combined Bishop’s Commitees met with Bp. Scantlebury to discuss our coming together as one church in January.
Visible in this picture is the font, which is very popular with the children of the parish. The adults who were received and their sponsors are standing along the wall to the bishop’s right.
