Next time you come across votive candles, please collect and bring to St. Nicholas. We will be needing and using quite a few during Advent as we intend to “light things up” outside. Candles can be stored in the sacristy. Thank you, one and all.

The Washington National Cathedral, closed for restoration since a 5.8 earthquake struck the region on Aug. 23, is open for services and tours again..
Though ongoing repairs from fallen stonework and other damage are expected to take years and cost at least $15 million, the Gothic cathedral reopened Sunday and has scheduled a series of special events this week including an interfaith concert and requiem mass for the feast of all souls.
